このたびSAIでは、ハリウッド俳優、写真家、プロデューサーなど、多岐にわたる活動を展開するマルチクリエイター、Norman Reedus（ノーマン・リーダス）による写真集“IN TRANSIT”の日本限定エディションの発売を記念して1月4日（土）から1月12日（日）まで期間限定のポップアップストアを開設いたします。
 
2023年のパリ、2024年の東京・SAIでのワールドツアーを経て販売される写真集“IN TRANSIT”は、アーティストであるノーマンが時間、記憶、そして動きを個人的に探求したものであり、1990年代のアンダーグラウンドシーンから現在に至るまでの作品を収録しています。
 
「“IN TRANSIT”は直感的な探求、個人的な経験、そして精神分析的で催眠的なものである。このコレクションは90年代から現代に至るまでの未公開作品が多数含まれているが常に、“IN TRANSIT”でありこれらの異なる時代の深部を探求するような過程である。」とノーマンは語ります。ノーマンが日々撮り続けている抽象的な都市の風景やスナップ写真を通して、写真家ノーマンは鑑賞者である私たちと彼自身の未知の道の共有を促します。
 
写真集“IN TRANSIT”の日本限定エディションは1000部限定となります。今回の日本エディションのために製作した豪華なスリップケースは、ノーマン・リーダスの親しい友人であり、ノーマンが主演を務める最新のPlayStation®5用ソフトウェア『DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH』（2025年）の脚本、プロデュース、監督を務めている小島秀夫監督が手掛けました。
 
本書にはノーマン・リーダス直筆のサイン入りブックプレートがすべてに付属しています。
写真集は1月4日（土）より本ポップアップストアで販売される他、特設サイトでのオンライン販売もいたします。尚、会場でご購入いただいた方限定に、本書よりノーマンがセレクトしたイメージのポラロイド写真をランダムに同封いたします。

俳優、写真家、映画監督、アーティスト。11シーズン続いた『ウォーキング・デッド』のダリル・ディクソン役としても知られるノーマン・リーダスは、AMCスピンオフ作品『ウォーキング・デッド:ダリル・ディクソン』の第2シーズンで主演、世界中のファンの人気を集めた。最近では、ジェフ・ニコル監督の『The Bikeriders』に出演し、トム・ハーディ、オースティン・ バトラー、ジョディ・コマーらと共演。また、リーダスはブラックストーン・パブリッシングと出版契約を結び、2022年に『The Ravaged』を発表、NYタイムズのベストセラーリストに初登場した。また、小島秀夫監督による大成功を収めたビデオゲーム・フランチャイズ『デス・ストランディング』の主役でもある。リーダスは写真家としても数々の作品を発表。彼の写真は、ニューヨーク、マイアミ、ロサンゼルス、バルセロナ、コペンハーゲン、パリ、ハンブルク、東京など、世界中のさまざまな都市で巡回されている。2013年10月、写真集“The Sun's Coming Up... SAI is pleased to announce the opening of a pop-up event IN TRANSIT, from 4th - 12th January 2025, to celebrate the release of the Japanese exclusive edition of IN TRANSIT, a photography book by Norman Reedus—a multi-talented creator renowned for his work as a Hollywood actor, photographer, and producer.
 
Following its world tour in Paris in 2023 and Tokyo (SAI) in 2024, the photography book IN TRANSIT showcases Norman’s personal exploration of time, memory, and movement. The book includes a collection of artworks from the underground scene of the 1990s to the present day.
 
‘IN TRANSIT’ is an intuitive exploration, a personal experience, psychoanalytic and hypnotic. The collection contains many never-before-seen works from the 90s to the present day, but it is always ‘IN TRANSIT’, a process of exploring the depths of these different eras.’ Norman explains. Through his abstract urban landscapes and daily snapshots, Norman immerses us in his personal journey into the unknown.
 
The Japanese exclusive edition of IN TRANSIT is limited to 1,000 copies. It features custom handwritten lettering both the book title and Norman’s name on a deluxe slipcase by award-winning game designer Hideo Kojima, who is the writer, producer, and director of the latest PlayStation®5 software “DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH” (2025) which stars Norman as the lead character.
 
Each book includes a beautiful bookplate autographed by Norman Reedus. The photography book is available for purchase at the pop-up store starting 4th January, as well as through a dedicated online site. Customers who purchase the book at the venue exclusively receive a randomly selected Polaroid photo featuring an image chosen by Norman from the book.

Multi-hyphenate artist Norman Reedus has been amassing a career over decades that covers all artistic mediums including actor, photographer, director, and artist. As of recent, he has expanded his breadth of work to include NY Times best-selling author, publisher, restauranteur, and entrepreneur. He has quickly built one of the most expansive, fan-inclusive brands in and out of Hollywood.
 
Most recently, Reedus reprised his role as the fan favorite crossbow-wielding Daryl Dixon, in the second season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, an AMC spin-off from the eleven-season run of The Walking Dead.
 
He is also the lead of the highly successful video game franchise, Death Stranding, from director Hideo Kojima. The first game was released in 2019 and in January of 2024, they released a Director’ s Cut of the game.
